WAY Cables Manifesto

Unlike many mass-produced audio cables in miles of flashy plastic, cut to length and fitted with seemingly gold connectors, and advertised as ‘handmade’ and ‘the best,’ WAY Cables takes a fundamentally different approach.

Philosophy of Music ‘n’ Joy

From the WAY Cables’ perspective, listening to music on a home audio system is comparable to observing nature, contemplating the visual arts, or immersing in literature. The deeper one delves and the more one understands the complexity and depth of musical compositions, the more excitement transforms into lasting joy.

Such a personal voyage awakened new emotions and insights, inspiring WAY Cables to continue exploring the infinity of music and leading to the creation of the XSeries.

Choosing the less traveled path — imagination, arts, and challenging craftsmanship — instead of relying on machines for mass production, WAY Cables integrates dreams, firsthand work, and listening to create new ways to deliver an authentic sound and music experience.

WAY Cables focuses not on costeffective quantity production but on creating audio cables with the highest sonic quality, reliability, and timeless artistic value. This approach guides every WAY Cables decision, from selecting or making our own components to developing proprietary design solutions. WAY Cables’ methods and processes require time for extensive research, rigorous testing, and audibly confirmed responses to countless questions that start with “what” and “if,” which result in limited-edition products of supreme sonic features.

WAY Cables works transcends norms and expectations, enabling listeners to hear, feel, and experience music in its truthfulness — capturing every detail: tone, breath, movement, texture, color, voice, and silence — exactly as conceived, performed, and recorded.

That is Music ‘n’ Joy.

The Art of Sonic Truth

Artist Miroslav Nune Popovic, born in 1974 in Belgrade, Serbia, is the founder and chief designer of WAY Cables, established in 2013. Nune creates high‑end audio cables as his ultimate artistic expression. His cables are crafted in limited series as certified works of art – entirely by hand – using proprietary solutions and the finest materials.

“For me, designing cables is not just a pursuit of technical specifications, but findings of the sonic truth I first experienced as a boy. Every WAY Cables model is a piece of my personal history and being. It is my contribution to bring music into your home, untouched and pure.”

Nune’s fascination with sound began at age twelve, inspired by a close relative, an audiophile pioneer in the mid-1980s, whose system included legendary Apogee Duetta Signature speakers and other high-end electronics. These early, intense listening sessions ignited a love that would last his entire life.

As a teenager, he experienced firsthand how cables could enhance sound quality. Replacing standard stranded speaker wire with a twisted pair of single-core copper telephone wires significantly improved his family’s HiFi system. This realization opened his eyes to the crucial role cables play in the audio chain and stayed with him forever.

Although life led him down different creative and challenging paths, his bond with audio and music remained a constant source of his imagination and inspiration, and an intimate shelter.

“Music has never been just sound to me, but a kind of magic that led me to discover both my internal being and the universe we belong to. I created WAY Cables to experience music in its most transformational and powerful essence. We don’t build cables to make a system louder or bolder, nor to tune the sound of music with more or less bass. WAY cables allow the music to be as it is.”

At seventeen, he published his first book of poetry. After high school, from 1993 to 1995, he learned at the multidisciplinary art school Tradition of the Avant-Garde, led by key figures in contemporary art from the mid-1960s to the late 1980s. His artistic work evolved into socially engaged, conceptual, and interdisciplinary forms, including vocal poetry jam sessions with prominent jazz musicians, exhibitions, and projects with the Art group Magnet. During the 1990s, he also worked as a journalist and editor in independent media. In the 2000s, he co-founded a creative studio in Slovenia with his future life partner, Tamara Cetkovic, an award-winning graphic designer who also created the WAY Cables visual identity and maintains it.

In everything he did, Nune’s creativity reflects perseverance and dedication, along with a deep belief in the inspiring and transformative power of music and art, both for individuals and society.

The culmination came in 2013, when Nune returned to his first love, sound and music, dedicating himself to creating high-end audio cables as his ultimate artistic expression. Today, every X‑Series cable carries the essence of Nune’s exciting journey, a fusion of avant-garde art, journalistic precision, and a lifelong pursuit of sonic truth that WAY Cables embodies.

“From my first book of poetry to the design of the X‑Series, my way has always been the same: an uncompromising struggle for the essence. Today, the X‑Series Collection is my most personal poem written in silver, which I proudly share with the world of those who seek the most profound experience of music.”

Breathing Life into Cables

Master craftsman Slobodan Tosic (born 1986 in Cacak, Serbia) and his team of artisans bring every X‑Series cable to life, from bare wire to the final product, without machines. Their unique sonics and appearance, envisioned by the artist, stem from Slobodan’s masterful craftsmanship, which can take several days to complete a single masterpiece.

“If audio cables are the bloodstream of a music system, Slobodan is the craftsman who gives them a heartbeat. With a patience that defies the modern age, he transforms raw elements into living messengers of sonic truth — entirely by hand.”

Driven by a desire for authentic creation, Slobodan left the IT sector to join WAY Cables in 2015. He spent the first three years assisting before he started crafting WAY cables himself. Over the decade, his dedication to handwork, learning new skills, and leading the artisan team earned him the title of WAY Cables Master Craftsman in 2025.

The peak of Slobodan’s mastery is evident in the impeccable craftsmanship of the X-Series. This work sets new standards for high-end handcrafted audio cables, both in sonic performance and build quality, making them truly world-unique and incomparable.

Slobodan’s passion for music drives everything he does. He puts his heart into bringing an artistic vision to life, giving the cables a soul much as the carver Geppetto did with Pinocchio in Carlo Collodi’s famous novel. The only difference is that Slobodan’s talents and skills are real; he indeed breathes life into WAY Cables’ artistic creations for high-end audio through the power of his hands.

“I trust Slobodan’s hands to bring my most complex sonic visions to life. He doesn’t just assemble components; he literally puts his heart into every weave, giving the cables a soul. It is this human touch that makes a WAY cable an incomparable masterpiece of sound and art.”

Beyond the Workshop

When he is not crafting audio-cable masterpieces, Slobodan’s discipline and precision find another outlet: he is a proud member of the Serbian Cricket Federation and the national team.

Every audio system provides a unique listening experience. That’s why WAY Cables enables existing and prospective users worldwide to personally discover the transformative power of X‑Series cables in their own setups, on equal footing.
